Update on Life

Hello all,

I’m so sorry for the lack of updates on Chebusiness; you could say lately I’ve been very busy and making a lot of life changing decisions. A few weeks ago I participated in a course entitled Gateway to Work which was provided by Working Links (http://www.workinglinks.co.uk), the course was a two week course to try and find me a job; which give them their due they did.

So anyway, I went for this job which was for a Customer Service Representative dealing with Customer Retentions, I found the first day absolutely amazing and they gave us all a nice pack to swat up on our job role etcetera and said we could take it home; So me being me, I did. It comes to the next day and the original training staff had to go into a meeting and was replaced by none other than the Training Manager.

He was all right at first until my newly found friend Rossi asked a question which obviously because I swatted up the previous night knew the answer to; So I told him the answer and Mr. Training Manager didn’t like it and stated when I told Rossi the answer this:

Do you want to take over my training session?

so I replied obviously with

Ermm, No

so then he replied with

Paul, I respect your enthusiasm but please I’d appreciate it if next time you shut up.

he was very blunt and that’s when I started getting the vibe that he didn’t want me working there because I knew too much. Which of course really gets me because employee’s are always looking for people who show a keen interest and enthusiasm.

Anyway, after that he let us all go for lunch and when we got back we started on a task and Rossi cheekily said

Paul, from now on can I call you skippy?

so I replied with whilst laughing without thinking about what I was saying just out there

Yeah, does that mean I can call you a cunt

which he replied with

Yeah! Feel free.

now, this is when things got bad because the training manager heard me say cunt and asked me what I said so stupidly enough I said to him

Well, Rossi asked me if he called me skippy so I asked him if I could call him a see you en tee.

as you can well presume the training manager was furious; he then stormed out of the room and got on the phone to the Agency which I am with and then got me fired with a click of the finger.

Anyway, that was all well and good because I personally didn’t want to do it; and I only wanted to do it because of the money to put it bluntly. So, now I’m jobless and didn’t know what to do so I went out for the week and applied my ass to a lot of job vacancies on Fish4.co.uk also reed.co.uk. I personally didn’t think nobody would be interested in giving me the chance for another job but my luck struck yesterday at approximately 12:00 and my phone rung; on the line was one of the companies which I applied for, ETM Marketing, Now apparently they liked my C.V. / Resume and I now have an Interview today at 14:00. Which is bloody good and took me by huge surprise.

Anyway, I must really be going now because i’ve rambled on too much. But in other news I finally persuaded my mother to switch from AOL to O2 Broadband, and now we’re happy customers of O2 paying £15 p/m for a 20 Meg Connection, which now http://www.gotsrc.net is hosted on this very computer which i’m typing from and everything works (besides e-mail I have to set that up still). I also switched to Fedora 9 for this purpose because it will be my personal desktop distro / development machine.
